It has a great central location with seven state routes culminating in the center of town and spreading out to all different directions. It's one of the easiest towns to commute to and from.

Delaware is the location of the Ohio Wesleyan University, one of the five colleges of Ohio and one of the many liberal arts colleges in the United States. Delaware is famous for The Little Brown Jug, an internationally famous harness race that is part of the Triple Crown of Harness Racing for Pacers. It's also home to the Methodist Theological School, the Perkins Observatory, the Delaware County Fair, the Delaware Municipal Airport Annual Air Fair, the Delaware County District Library, the Famous Strand Theater (Oldest Movie Theater in Ohio and One of the Top 10 Oldest Theaters in the US), the Olentangy Indian Caverns and the Birthplace of the Famous Rutherford B Hayes Gas Station.

The epicenter of Delaware is the downtown portion, home to that famous's brand Theater. It also has several restaurants, outdoor eating spaces, quaint boutiques, antique shops, fantastic breweries and wineries, bookstores, dance studios, coffee shops and much more. It has a great university town atmosphere with a historical cinema, organic food stores and locally sourced restaurants. It's home to the Delaware County Cultural Arts Center with festivals and events ranging from ballet to concert, orchestra and singing competitions. It has a fantastic farmers market down on Main Street every Wednesday from 3 PM to 6 PM with seasonal fresh produce, baked goods, fresh-cut flowers and more.

It has one high school, one middle school, and five elementary schools. It's also home to the Delaware Christian school, St. Mary's school, and the Methodist Theological School. The Heritage Elementary school, Arrowhead Elementary, and the Rutherford B Hayes high school all receive top marks and reviews from parents and students alike.
